If you know me well you’d I can’t stand cold; I don’t just shiver, I shudder. I start getting goose bumps and get chilled to the bone. I’m too sensitive and intolerance to cold. The weather here is really hot but everywhere is fully air conditioned. The only time you get to feel the burning heat is when you take a walk to the bus stop or to your car and yea the bus stops are fully air conditioned too. I’m certainly not built for cold temperature. As much as i’d love to experience and play in the snow I’m not really looking forward to it because of this
condition situation – I mean! I wonder how I’d survive in cold countries. It’s so bad that no matter how hot the weather is, I dare not take a bath with cold water cos i’d sneeze till thy kingdom comes… Even with the warm/hot water I still sneeze sometimes. I’m sick of my nose, ears, eyes, bladder – they all feel the impact every damn time I sneeze. #sigh
The weather is so hot everyone needs the AC at 18 degrees. That’s like a death sentence for me; I can’t fathom how everyone seems to like it. Are they super-human? or probably just warm blooded. Most buildings in UAE uses a central AC so there’s pretty much nothing I can do especially at work. It’s more or less majority carries the vote. I literally have no say. I’m down with flu as I write this thanks to the AC at work. At least at home I have little control – luckily the AC is not central, so when the AC in the living room is on I’m in the room and vice versa.
I really hate hot, sunny days but I’d rather sweat than make every one around me uncomfortable with my flu and endless sneezes. Having flu/cold makes me miserable. I cease functioning. I just can’t seem to function in any temperature under 25 degrees. so bad I carry a cashmere everywhere I go and wear a hoodie at home in the summer.
My dad’s remedy is robb in hot water and a towel over your head so you could inhale the steam and robb.. it works when you use our robb or aboniki but the ones here ain’t hot enough. Unfortunately the robb I bought from my trip to Nigeria was seized at the Abuja airport that I should have checked it in instead of leaving it in my handbag. Chai! it pained me ehhh… My mum’s remedy is good old really spicy pepper soup… It does the magic but only for a few days… then the flu is back again.
So right now I’m going to make pepper soup and lemon with ginger tea, get some drugs, chill out, and stop complaining.
For my outfit, I was trying to nail the closest to a Kim k look ‘shirt or jacket handing over your shoulder’ with the army green shirt and the almost not visible chokers. What do you say – Nailed or I have to try harder?
It’s basically a casual look you could wear on a casual day out with friends and family. Coincidentally there was a playground around the corner. I love the colors especially the shade of blue. Been looking for that shade in high waist since forever till I finally laid my hands on this in New look. Although the waist is not high enough but I love it.
So, who else can’t tolerate or is sensitive to the cold? and I’d love to know what other remedy I could use to cure this ‘condition’.
