Monday Motivation: Maximising your potential #1
Exactly 5 years ago, I stumbled on Myles Monroe book (Thanks to my dad’s library) Maximising your potential I read every page, took down notes and It changed my life. In a profound way I realised that God has indeed blessed each and everyone of us with divine gifts, abilities, talents and untapped potentials capable of being used to impact our generation and dramatically change the world regardless of any form of limitation.
Unfortunately, their are millions of individuals who have and will bury their talents, gifts, and abilities in the cemetery.
(May this not be our story. Amen!)
They have settled for the less than their best. The human race has accepted the norm that comfortable and average respectably is just good enough.
The moment we decide to stretch our boundaries, dare to challenge, and violate the expectation of the norm, we become one step closer to positively affecting the world. In essence, why follow a path when you can make a trail?
It is necessary we ask ourselves the following questions:
Have we all become all we are capable of? Have we extended ourselves to the maximum? Have we done the best we can do? Have we used our gifts, talents, and abilities to their limit?
It is very typical for humans to wait for the pressures of circumstances and situations beyond our control before maximising our untapped potential. A personal experience was me not realising I could make my hair myself and for others until I found myself schooling in a country where the least cost of just fixing a weave is 3 times the usual price I’d pay in Nigeria. I wasn’t going to spend all my allowance on hair, I knew something had to be done. I gave it a try and I was able to do it. From that day forward, Tega turned an amateur hair stylist for both myself and friends.
Ability indeed needs responsibility to reveal and expose itself.
It is God’s will and desire that we decide to commit and dedicate ourselves to, and determine within ourselves, to achieve the full maximisation of our potential.
We should constantly ask ourselves this question:
Have we fully utilised our abilities, talents, and gifts
Have we settled for the norm?
Have we done our best?
Have we allowed others to place limitations on our potential,
Or have we created self-imposed limitations?
It is important we have genuine answers for this questions because they’ll help in achieving your personal fulfilment, contribution to the human race and most importantly please the lord. Know that God has bestowed upon you immeasurable treasures of ability specifically designed and tailored to accomplish everything your God given purpose demands. You are equipped with all you need in order to do all you were created to do.
However, the releasing of your potential is not up to God, but YOU. You determine the degree to which your destiny is accomplished. You determine the measure of your own success. Do not limit yourself, stop living a life of play, stop, pause and rewind. Day after day we find ourselves carrying out activities we hare, generally living an unsatisfied life.
Give yourself a chance to experience the joy of the other functions of your life, develop and refine your skills, fulfil your God-given destiny, capture your life purpose, expand your knowledge base, and explore the limits of your gifts, talents and abilities.
I’ll like to keep this post as short as possible but be sure to come back next Monday for more motivation. Honestly, this book helped me to align myself with my personal vision…I have NEVER been the same, my self-image and the way I related with people had been irrevocably changed and I have an unspeakable joy knowing that I’m living in purpose! This life is full of challenges that makes it seem impossible to maximise your potentials so I constantly try to remind myself of God’s promises and gifts – In doing so, I’d be reading this book over again for the 3rd time and it will be selfish of me not too share with you’all potentially filled people in hope to help you discover and learn how to maximise your God given potential. I believe every human being deserves the opportunity to unlock his or her hidden treasures.
So please stay tuned for more and subscribe to my blog to get updates on new and exciting posts.
Trust me you dont wanna miss out.
