Life Update | Still Alive and Blogging

By Posted on 14 0 m read 2.2K views

I was going to take stock but there’s nothing really to take stock about so I thought to do a life update instead. I know I have been MIA. It is unintentional. I love my blog, I want to be consistent – I really do but life  gets in the way all the damn time.

To be honest, I have been frustrated that finance is getting in the way of me starting my business(es). I mean I want to do a lot of stuff but you need capital to start any business.

I’m tired of making excuses. I apologize for not being consistent with my posts this month. This post is mostly ramblings, I hope it goes down pretty well!

So, what have I been up to?

Truth be told, my life is quiet boring so there’s nothing really fun going on around here. I work as a digital marketer for an Ecommerce company (www.dubazon.com) amazing thing about this job is I get to work from home but I have to go to the office on Saturdays. Working from home kinda makes one lazy. Although I have a daily routine, I never keep to it. I end up not doing up to half of my todo list – so I decided to go start going to the office.

A little background story

I’m a driving school dropout. Not proud at all. But getting a driving license in this country is so expensive I mean 8000aed approximately (800k naira) expensive. I am here thinking this money could buy me an actual car or even a piece of land in Ikorodu (Nigeria). And so I dropped out! 😩😩😩However, I just renewed my learning permit because this past 2 weeks has thought me that car is a necessity in this country.

My mum has been my driver. I hate to walk, much more I hate to walk under the sun because my body starts itching. You know the feeling when you have heat rashes and you walk under the sun, yes! That unpleasant feeling. The fam knows of my many allergies, my mum thinks it’s just ‘my mind’ and jokingly saying says I better marry a billionaire with all my many allergies. 😬😂😅

life updates

When I told them of my decision to go to the office with public transport – they laughed. Morris gave 2 days, mumc gave me a week 😬😂😅. Mind you, it is a 5 minutes’ walk from my house to the bus station – 2 buses, metro and another 15mins walk to the office.

2hrs respectively back and forth, what a journey! But I was determined (to never give up) to show them I can do this. Mumc offered to drive me down a couple of times (less than 30mins drive o!) but I turned down the tempting offer. Bruh! I got sick on the 3rd day. 😩😩😩

Long story short I am back to working from home. Summer is here it was 38 degrees a few days ago. My complexion is way darker than it used to be and I was spending way too much on transportation when I can work from the comfort of my bed.

And O! I have great news…

My cousin is getting married in June so I would most likely be in Nigeria. My trip hasn’t been confirmed yet but I really hope I can make it.

Please let me know of any blogging or fashion related event coming up in June as I’d love to attend. I’d also love to host a blogger’s brunch sort of where we can network and share some blogging tips. What do you say?

Been catching up on my favorite series and web series – Grimm (watched the final episode today), The originals (any vampire fans here?), Reign, Shuga (I kinda miss it being shot in Lagos), Husbands of Lagos, Client’s List (Can’t wait for the next episode). Series suggestion please?

I need blog post ideas guys, I am hitting the blogger’s block. What would you want me to blog about?

I think that’s all I’ve got for now, but I want to hear what you’ve been up to! Tell me something good that’s happened to you this week.

Looking forward to sharing more interesting and insightful posts. I’m coming back baby!

Miss you all.

If there’s anything I’ve learnt is patience. Just be patience and the right one hopefully will come.

Lol. Pretty interesting one. Congrats on being off the singleton club. Walking from home is nice but could be tempting. We need to stretch our legs once in a while. It’s a good thing you report to the office on Saturday. Walking is a great form of exercise.

Hmmmm, Tega Tega, how far nah? E don teyy ooo.

Anyways, the only part i really read in this post and that is making me make a comment is the part that “you met an amazing human”. Way to go girl, i’m super happy for you. Being in love is an amazing thing. I wish you all the best and God’s grace and favour with this amazing human.

I would really love to meet with you one day. This bubu dollar/naira ish is not bae at all ooo so i have placed on hold the idea of re- visiting your city anytime soon. Anything can still happen though. If by any chance that your cousin’s wedding will be happening in your state of origin, then hola at me.

    I like your dress Tega!
You could write about being a Nigerian in the Diaspora, especially Dubai. Also, beauty and make up product reviews could be very helpful . DIY Fashion too would be very interesting.

Wow! Girl, you are so pretty! And you pose so beautifully! Teach me how to do eye makeup na. Your eyeliner is so on point.
I think I’m the opposite of you. I have so many things planned to blog about: mostly recipes. But shooting them is quite a process so I’m taking it one step at a time.

I didn’t know getting a Driver’s License is so expensive in Dubai?! 800k?! Anyhow, it is best when you are able to drive yourself.

I’m not also quite good with routines (though my brother thinks the opposite. Lol). At this point in my life I literally can’t survive without a routine. So I’m learning to stick to schedule everyday. I don’t follow a to-do list religiously but I find that on days when I have a plan, I have something to fall back on.

Hope you have a great time in Nigeria!

It’s so expensive but having a car here Issa necessity so let me just call it an investment 😫😫😫.

      Thank you
