If you’re anything like me, you love scarves both as an accessory to add some visual flair to your hair and the simplest solution for bad hair days since the bobby pin. Headscarf is one of this season’s hottest accessory, the best part is you don’t have to own a number of headscarves except you want to. While it may seem like a daunting task to transform a scarf into a beautiful new ‘do, it takes little to no effort to style them differently to give your outfit a chic and retro vibe. All you need to do is twist, wrap and knot till you get your preferred style.

Whether you’re protecting your hair, or having a bad hair day and want to take advantage of the scarf’s moment, here are a few fun and summery ways to style the hair scarf.

1. The Bow

2. The Turban

3. Rosetta Turban

4. Chic Pirate

5. Retro Bow-twist

You start off with a large rectangular scarf and twist around tightly, tie edges similar to a bow, and that’s it.

6. The Hairband

All you need to do is fold the scarf and wrap around your hair like a band.

You could always wrap your hair around for a simple and classic look. The trick is to style your hair to one side and wrap a scarf around it.

  1. Tega! Yes you were gone for a min but you are forgiven coz you came back ON TOP! Love this post, as I speak to you now I’m staring at my scarf/sarong options for the day which will all be worn on my head. Ok back to you, its a toughie but I’m all for the Bow style hands down, this is sooo super coote and looks like its quite tricky to get the bow right so its balanced on both sides and looks, well like a bow!
Ps hope you are still on your mission to be more social, haha! ( :

    • Haha… glad I’m forgiven! You very right style the bow is really tricky especially if it’s a soft and silky scarf like mine.

The mission is still on! Lol

      Thanks a lot Biki

  2. That’s a beautiful scarf and you’re pretty hands on on tying it in fabulous ways. I keep saying we don’t style scarves enough in Naija. I love the simplicity of the turban style. You slayed all the looks. @Oddsandcool on instagram carries beautiful scarves.
