You hear of bloggers making thousands of dollars monthly from their blog and you wondering HOW? Making money from your blog isn’t a myth. It’s doable by everyone. Besides, there’s no rule demanding that you can’t do something you love and still get paid for it. At the very least, you should be able to make enough to cover your basic expenses for domain and hosting.
Before you consider monetising your blog, you should;

Making money from your website isn’t easy. But these seven tips are probably your best bet.
1. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is a type of pay per action based marketing. It’s basically getting paid to recommend products or services. As the blogger, you include links to a product or service offered through another business’s affiliate program. If one of your visitors clicks on that link and purchases the good or service, you’ll receive a certain percentage of the cost. Simple.
The more relevant the ad is to your content, the higher the likelihood visitors will click on the ad and perform the desired action. For example, if you have a fashion blog, you should apply to be an affiliate with fashion brands especially fashion online stores. I’m sure you’ve seen ‘shop my outfit’ on some fashion blogs. Those are examples of affiliate links. There are a lot of affiliate programs, the most popular ones are Amazon Associates, Commission Junction, LinkShare and ShareASale.
2. Offer coaching and consulting services
Offering services is often the fastest and most direct way to make money with your blog. I personally make more money from this method than any other. People are always willing to learn a thing or two especially if it will profit or improve their business. So, use your blog as place to establish your expertise by combining your sale of service and sale of information.
3. Create and sell online courses and Ebooks
Everybody seems to be writing an eBook these days, so why don’t you give it a try. Ebooks and courses are a great way to package up your knowledge and sell it to your readers.
For example, if you run a food blog you can create a recipe book and sell or run an online cooking course for a small fee. You can sell it through your website or through Amazon or on Apple iStore.
4. Speaking at events
If you become a well know expert in your niche or a digital influencer, you can speak at events and get paid. The purpose of your blog is to position yourself as an expert and gifted communicator, but then your target customer will be event organisers. You can also attend an important brand event in your niche, write about it and get paid. Getting paid to attend an event. Awesome innit?
5. Selling Merchandise or physical products
Another simple way to monetise your blog is by selling merchandise. You can sell stuffs like art, t shirts, caps, bags, or fashion items especially if you are a fashion blogger; you can collaborate with brands to create a product and sell via your blog or better still, create your own merchandise. As a blogger, your audience is your greatest asset so use it to your advantage.
6. Sponsored posts and product reviews
One of the common ways to making more money from your blog is through sponsored posts and product reviews. In a nutshell, a brand pays you to create content that promotes it. In some cases, they write the post and all you need to do is share.
If you have don’t have gigantic traffic yet, you probably not going to form partnership with giant brands. But it’s very common for startups and smaller business to pay for a sponsored post.
7. Google AdSense and other paid Ads
Google AdSense is the most popular way of monetising your blog. This was the first method I used in monetising my blog. Keep in my mind that this method is effective if your blog receives a lot of traffic. Essentially, you should post google ads on your blog within strategic places. For example, within your content, and on the sidebar of your blog.
